Frederick, Md- With the win in game one over CCBC Dundalk, Head Coach Rodney Bennett earned his 450th career victory at the helm for the FCC Cougar baseball team. The 2015 campaign is Bennett's 13th season as the skipper of the FCC baseball program. Congratulations to Coach Bennett for reaching this major milestone!
The Cougars defeated CCBC Dundalk 12-2 (5 innings) and 11-2 on Sunday afternoon in a key MD JUCO conference match-up. FCC extends their winning streak to fifteen games and boasts an overall record of 16-2 while remaining perfect at home.

Cougars hit 4 HRs in victory over Lions
FCC starting pitching Nate Harmon toed the rubber in game one and turned in a stellar performance. The gutty right-hander struck out seven batters on the day in five innings. Harmon improves to 3-1 on the year.
The Cougar offense as a whole is on a tear and continues to rip the cover off the baseball. Devin Bell connected on his seventh home run of the season in the first inning hitting a 2-run moonshot. Bell hit a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth and now has eight dingers on the year.
Joe Gagliardi would come up in the bottom of the second and connect on a long ball giving him two HRs on the year.
FCC catcher Ron Healy is squaring the baseball up and had three hits in the victory to lead the Cougars. Healy deposited a solo shot in the third inning down the right field line that was crushed. Michael Castillo (2 2B), Chris Mattison, and Brett Strahin each had two hits.

Bach Ks nine and remains perfect on the hill for FCC
Carson Bach, rockin' a hairstyle like Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija, shut the CCBC Dundalk offense down in dominant fashion. The tall righty registered nine strikeouts and went 7 strong innings. Bach remains perfect on the hill and sits at 2-0.
In the bottom of the second, the Cougars put a four spot on the board. Chris Mattison would draw a leadoff walk followed up by an RBI double by Ron Healy. The Cougars were just getting warmed up. Joe Gagliard would hit a double and hot-hitting Brett Strahin tattooed a triple down the left field line.
In the bottom of the sixth, the FCC offense erupted. The Cougars lit up the scoreboard with seven runs and batted around. The big blow in the inning was when clean-up hitter Chris Mattison, wo is currently riding a 15-game hitting streak, came to the plate with the bags loaded. Mattison would split the outfield gap clearing the bases. Dylan Guttierez also stepped up to the plate smoking a double that would plate two teammates.
Michael Castillo had two hits and reached base three times while teammate Ron Healy was perfect at the dish going 3-for-3 including two doubles.

The Frederick Community College baseball squad will return to the diamond on Tuesday afternoon when they host College of Southern Maryland in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
