Beasley, bullpen shut down Hawks in 3-1 win

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Frederick Community College baseball team hit the road on a sunny Thursday afternoon to take on the Hawks from Hagerstown Community College in MD JUCO action. FCC would break up a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth as they plated two runs to take a 3-1 lead and earn the victory. With the win, FCC improves to 12-10 (3-3 MD JUCO) on the season. The Hawks fall to 11-8 overall.

The storyline of the game was the stellar outing by FCC starting pitcher James Beasley (5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 7 Ks). He pitched five innings and struck out seven batters to earn the win. Beasley improves to 2-1 on the hill for the season. Credit the FCC bullpen of Colby Maun, Teagan Staver, and Brayden Coe for shutting the door and holding on for the win. Coe picks up his first save of the season as he recorded the final three outs of the game.

FCC first baseman Brady Harju had a nice day at the dish. He went 3-for-4 and remains hot for the Cougars. Harju is hitting a solid .353 on the year. Josh Greenberg is heating up at the plate as he went 2-for-4 in the win.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday afternoon when they host Potomac State College of WVU. First pitch is set for 1:00 P.M.
