FCC splits Sunday twinbill with #20 Lansing CC

AUBURNDALE, Fl. – The Frederick Community College Cougars won the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday morning by the score of 14-5 over #20 Lansing Community College. The Stars would take the second game by the score of 8-4. FCC sits at 2-1 on the season and will return to the diamond on Monday afternoon when the take on the Loggers from Lincoln Land. First pitch is set for 1:30 P.M.

Game One

Jacob Wetzel and Jacob Berry each smacked three hits in the win. Wetzel tattooed his second and thrid triple, while knocking in another four runs. He now has 10 RBIs on the season and three triples. Berry found the gap and tallied a pair of doubles. Brandon Austin and Hayden Kissel each had two hits as the Cougars pounded out a total of 13 hits overall. Mitch Long had an interesting day at the dish. The lefty drew five base on balls and crossed home plate four times. In his only plate appearance, FCC freshman Kyle Schofield tagged a double and recorded an RBI.

Brayden Coe (1-0) toed the rubber for FCC for the first time this season and picked up the win. The righty tossed five innings and gave up just one run while striking out four batters.  

Game Two

The Cougars were held to just two hits in game two. DJ Johnson and Wetzel each had a base knock for FCC. AJ Cieslinski (0-1) was tagged with the loss as he went five innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out five.
