Baseball loses high-scoring affair to Loggers, 14-9

KISSIMMEE, Fl. – The FCC Cougars hit the diamond on Monday afternoon to take on the Loggers from Lincoln Land CC. The Loggers would top the Cougars by the score of 14-9. With the loss, FCC falls to 2-2 on the year. The Loggers improve to 5-2 on the season.

FCC's Jacob Wetzel continues to rip the cover off the ball. He hit his second homer of the season and smacked a double in the loss. Wetzel knocked in five runs and now has 15 RBIs on the season in just four games and is hitting .643 early in the season. Brett Stallings had a solid game in the leadoff spot, going 4-for-5 (2B, 3B), while knocking in two runs and crossing home plate twice. Kevon Wharton had a pair of base knocks for the Cougars.

FCC used six different pitchers on Monday afternoon. The staff gave up a total of nine earned runs while giving up eight free passes. Nick Karlinchak suffers the loss and falls to 0-1 on the season.

FCC will have the next two days off and return to the diamond on 3/6 for a doubleheader against Monroe Community College. First pitch is set for 11:30 A.M.
