Cieslinski tosses a gem in shutout victory over Lakers

FREDERICK, Md. – What an action packed day for avid sports fans! MLB Opening Day, NCAA March Madness Sweet 16, and FCC Baseball hosting Garrett College on Thursday afternoon taking care of business by blanking the Lakers, 8-0. 

A tip of the cap to FCC starting pitcher AJ Cieslinski for his dominating performance on the mound for FCC. The righty tossed seven innings, giving up just six hits while fanning eight. He improves to 3-1 on the year. Brodey Neveker came in relief to record the last six outs of the game.

FCC leadoff hitter Brett Stallings has been heating up at the dish. He went 3-for-5 in the win. Hayden Kissel and Connor Hanafin each had a pair of base knocks. Priamo Lozada and Brandon Austin each chipped in with a double. Stallings, Austin, and Mitchell Long each knocked in two runs. Jacob Wetzel hit his seventh triple of the season. He is currently leading the NJCAA DII in 3-baggers. Wetzel is just one triple away from tying the individual single season record in FCC baseball program history.
