Baseball Falls Twice to Fighting Owls

FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick Community College Cougars lost twice to Harford Community College by the scores of 6-0 and 10-7. FCC drops to 14-9 (6-3 MD JUCO) overall and the Fighting Owls improve to 20-5 (9-1 MD JUCO) on the season.

Game One

The FCC offense was held to just three hits in the loss. FCC's Jacob Berry registered the only extra base hit for FCC when he doubled in the fifth inning. Harford's Braeden Fausnaught went six innings to pick up the win. He improves to 3-1 on the year. Brad Foster (3-2) got the start for FCC and suffered the loss. He pitched four innings and gave up two earned runs and punched out seven. Max Cannon and Max Proctor pitched the final three innings for the Cougars. The FCC pitching staff registered 14 strikeouts for the game.

Game Two

The Cougars would strike first in their first at-bats thanks to RBIs by Jacob Wetzel and Connor Hanafin. Harford would plate two runs in the top of the third to tie the contest up. FCC would score four times in the bottom of the fifth on just one hit and a couple of free passes from the Harford pitching staff giving the Cougars a 6-2 lead. The Fighting Owls would not go away quietly. They would score eight runs in the final two innings to secure the win.

FCC would use six pitchers in the second game. Max Proctor was hit with the loss and falls to 0-1 on the hill. At the plate for FCC, the Cougars tallied four singles in the game. Brett Stallings, Mitchell Long and DJ Johnson each scored two runs.

FCC will return to the diamond on 4/2 when they host Allegany College (MD) for a single game. First pitch is slated for 3:00 P.M.
