Baseball Drops One-Run Contest at Hagerstown CC

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Frederick Community College baseball team made the 32 mile trip up I-70 to take on the Hawks from Hagerstown Community College. FCC would jump out to a 2-1 lead after two innings of play, but the Hawks would rally back to earn the 5-4 victory over the Cougars. The Hawks are 25-9 (11-1 MD JUCO) on the season.

Priamo Lozada (.402 BA) and Mitchell Long (.338 BA) led the FCC offense with two hits each. A tip of the cap to Jacob Wetzel for smacking his eighth triple of the season. Wetzel ties Devin Bell (2015) and Carl Wastler (1985) for most triples in a single season for FCC baseball program. On the season, Wetzel is hitting .420 with 40 RBIs and nine stolen bases.

FCC used seven different pitchers in the game. Brodey Neveker tossed one inning and gave up two earned runs. He is tagged with the loss and falls to 1-1 on the season.
