BASEBALL LETS LATE LEAD SLIP AWAY IN 13-11 LOSS TO LAKERS

McHenry, Md. – The Frederick Community College baseball team traveled to Garrett College on Tuesday afternoon for a single game against the Lakers. GC would score nine runs in their final two innings to win by the score of 13-11. The Cougars committed an uncharacteristic five errors in the field.

Priamo Lozada (.434 BA) led the FCC offense with two doubles and a homer. He drove in a pair of runs on the day. Brett Stallings (.355 BA) and Jacob Wetzel (.387 BA) had two hits each. Wetzel hit his fifth long ball on the year and knocked in a pair of teammates. Jacob Berry and Kevon Wharton tallied two RBIs apiece.

The FCC bullpen gave up eight runs in two innings of work. Nick Karlinchak (4-2) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 1.1 innings and gave up five runs (1 ER) and four hits.

 FCC (25-13, 13-7 MD JUCO) will return to the diamond on Saturday (4/27) for a doubleheader against AACC at home. First pitch is set for noon.
