FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick Community College Cougars swept a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon over Anne Arundel CC on the campus of FCC by the scores of 10-0 (5 Innings) and 5-1.  The Cougars took advantage of two strong pitching performances by Brayden Coe and Brad Foster.

Game One

Not your typical boxscore in a shortened 10-run rule game. The Cougars tallied 10 runs on only two hits.  The Cougars showed patience at the dish tallying 17 free passes offered up by the Riverhawks pitching staff. Brett Stallings and Priamo Lozada had the only hits in the win. The Cougars tallied seven runs after the first two innings of play.

Brayden Coe turned in another stellar performance on the mound. He tossed a complete game shutout and gave up just one hit. He fanned six batters and improves to 7-1 on the year and is sporting a 1.80 ERA on the season. Nice work Brayden!

Game Two

A combo effort by FCC starting pitcher Brad Foster (7-2) and relief pitcher Max Proctor held the Riverhawks offense in check in the nightcap. The southpaw Foster tossed four innings and struck out five batters giving up just one hit in the win. Max Procter recorded the final nine outs to pick up his first save on the season. Six of his nine outs were punchouts!

Jacob Wetzel, Connor Hanafin, and Jacob Berry led the offensive charge. Wetzel and Hanafin smacked two hits in the win. One of Wetzel's two hits was his tenth triple to add to his single season three-bagger record. In the bottom of the third, Jacob Berry hit a see-you-later for his third tater shot of the year.

Up next...Little rest for the Cougars as they return to the diamond on Sunday for a double-header against PGCC.  Game time is set for noon.
