HUDSON, North Carolina – The No. 13 FCC baseball team dropped two games on Sunday afternoon to Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute by the scores of 7-2 and 1-0. The Cougars return home from their spring trip and will play their home opener on Tuesday, March 10, vs. Allegany College of Maryland for a single game. The first pitch is set for 3:00 PM. FCC sits at 12-5 overall on the season.

GAME ONE

No. 13 Frederick Community College fell behind early and couldn't bounce back in a 7-2 loss to CCC & TI on Sunday. The Cobras would plate two runs in the first frame and never looked back.

Nick Karlinchak led things off on the hill for FCC. He surrendered six runs on nine hits over three innings, striking out four, and walking one.

Karlinchak suffers the loss on the hill and falls to 2-1 on the season. Robbie Terry and Steven Sturlaugson entered the game in relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

FCC scattered six hits in the game. Priamo Lozada (2-for-3, 2B) and Connor Hanafin (2-for-3) each managed two hits to lead the Cougars offense.

GAME TWO

FCC's Max Proctor and Seth Willis of CCC &TI had quite the pitching duel on Sunday afternoon as the two right-handed pitchers were dealing all afternoon. Both pitchers tossed complete games. Proctor (1-1) gave up just two hits and one run while fanning five. In the end, it would be the Cobras plating one run in the bottom of the third to earn the 1-0 victory.

Brett Stallings, Brodey Neveker, and Priamo Lozada all had one hit for the Cougars.
