Frederick Ranked Sixth in NJCAA Baseball Pre-Season Poll

Frederick Community College Baseball is ranked number six in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Pre-Season poll. Coach Rodney Bennett enters his 21st season as Head Coach at Frederick Community College, surpassing his 700th win last season on April 6, 2022. Almost a month later, on May 5, 2022, Bennett coached his 1000th game as Head Coach of the Cougars.

Frederick begins its 2023 campaign at the end of February with a series of games on the road at the Central Florida RussMatt Invitational, where they will face Bryant & Stratton College from Wisconsin, Century College from Minnesota, Kalamazoo Valley CC out of Michigan, and Erie CC from Pennsylvania. They will also visit Webber International University before returning to MD for their Home Opener against Allegany College of MD on March 7 at noon.

Aidan Masters (Elizabethtown, PA / Mount Calvary Christian) returns to the infield and will help offensively, as he led the team with a .387 batting average last season. Brendan Kleiman (Onley, MD / Sherwood) will return to his defensive position behind home plate. Bryce Greene (Montgomery Village, MD / Gaithersburg) returns to the pitching staff to help the young and relatively new 15-pitcher rotation. The offense welcomes back Josh Wilson (Clinton, MD / Bishop McNamara) and Aidan Greaney (New Windsor, MD / South Carroll).

The Cougars are back-to-back- Region 20 champions and will look to defend their title this season and to make their sixth trip to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, OK.
