Jordan Trunnell came up big for the Cougars as he toed the rubber for six innings giving up only two hits and recording ten strikeouts, a season-high. Frederick capitalized on a CMS throwing error after Brevin Neveker hit a grounder to the pitcher, and Brendan Kleiman ran from second to third base and advanced home on the error. Daniel Herrera trotted across home plate in the sixth inning along with Aidan Masters, who hit a long ball over the left field fence.

Game 2

Dakota Smith recorded eight strikeouts as the starting pitcher. Smith pitched a complete game two-hit shutout and picked up his first victory of the season.  The Cougars got off to a hot start as they scored seven runs in the first three innings, starting with a triple from Aidan Masters in the first.  The team would record eight hits, while Brody Lindsey would account for two of those hits and cross home plate three times on his two at-bats.
