The FCC Cougars Overcame CCBC Catonsville Cardinals 10-5

FCC Cougars baseball overcame an early 3-run deficit to defeat the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals 10-5 to advance to the 2023 NJCAA Region 20 Division II Baseball Championship Game on Sunday at noon.

After a solo home run from Aidan Masters in the first inning to give the Cougars the lead, the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals scored four runs in the second inning. Nick Keane would hit a one-out solo home run in the third inning to cut into the Cardinals' lead, but FCC Cougars took the lead back for good with a four-run inning of their own in the fourth. Brendan Kleinman's sac fly scored one run, and Demetri Jamison hit his first home run of the season, scoring three runs.

Chris Durkin led things off on the hill for FCC Cougars.  But got into some trouble and surrendered four runs on six hits over one and two-thirds innings, walking one. Aiden Fernandez came in to relieve his teammate and pick up the win pitching six and one-third innings allowing one run on five hits and one strikeout.

FCC Cougars racked up 11 hits in the game, with four Cougars, Joshua Wilson, Jamison, Kleinman, and Masters, tallying multiple hits on the day.

Despite the rain and wet conditions, the Cougars were flawless in the field and didn't commit a single error.
