Cougars defeated Houghton (NY) JV 13-5

FCC Cougars secured an impressive 13-5 victory over Houghton (NY) JV on Wednesday, in Davenport, FL.

The scoring frenzy began in the top of the first inning, with Nick Keane's single bringing in one run and Bryce Curry's single driving in another. Jake Holler's double then added two more runs, and Braydon Kelman's groundout contributed one more, giving the FCC Cougars a solid early lead. 

In the second inning, FCC Cougars continued to bring the offense with three more runs. Christian Cabina's homer to left field brought in two runs, while Daniel Herrera's single added another, extending their lead to 8-2.

Zach Bortner started the game on the mound for FCC Cougars, pitching two innings and allowing three hits and four runs (three earned), while striking out three and walking two. Aiden Hernandez, Nick Reeves, and Adam Horst provided solid relief pitching, each throwing scoreless innings.

Offensively, FCC Cougars recorded 12 hits, with Keane leading the charge with a perfect four hits in four at-bats. Curry and Cabina proved to be offensive threats in the lineup, each driving in three runs. Holler also contributed with two hits in four at-bats. Additionally, FCC displayed disciplined batting, drawing eight walks, with Herrera and Cabina each drawing two walks.

Keane had a good jump and speed on the basepaths, stealing two bases, while the Cougars as a team stole three bases. Defensively, they executed one double play during the game.
