Cougars Drop to Howard 88-59

Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball team dropped a game to the Howard Community College Dragons, the number one team in Region 20 Division II, 88-59. The Cougars drop to 10-10 on the season and 3-6 in regional contests, eleventh in Region 20.

Mike Davis scored a quick basket off the tip to give the Cougars the early lead, but Howard would answer back with a 15-2 run. The Dragons' defense would make it difficult for Frederick to get anything going, but the Cougars were determined and continued to fight to get back into the game.

Malik Witherspoon and Terrell Neal led the offensive charge for Frederick, delivering solid performances with 18 points each. Witherspoon pulled down seven rebounds, and Neal recorded five rebounds. Mike Davis chipped in 6 points, and Richard Burke added 5 points and two assists, while Jaden Arrington tallied four points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The Cougars will face off against the Montgomery College Raptors at home on Saturday, February 10, at 3:00 PM. The Raptors are sixth in the region at 5-4 with an overall record of 11-13.
