Cougars Men’s Basketball Falls to CCBC Dundalk in Region 20 Quarterfinal 87-72

The #6 Frederick Community College Cougars lost to #3 CCBC Dundalk Lions 87-72 in the NJCAA DII Region 20 Championship Quarterfinal.

Frederick scored the game's first points to take an early lead. However, the Lions' energy was difficult for FCC to match in the first half. Dundalk would climb back in, but the Cougars would apply strong defense to make it difficult. The Cougars were active on the boards and committed only five fouls in the first half. The Lions' shots were falling, making nine-first-half threes to build a lead. Despite FCC's efforts to rally back, CCBC Dundalk maintained their lead, finishing the first half with a 49-34 advantage.

Frederick came out of halftime and showed resilience in the second half, narrowing the gap, but ultimately couldn't catch up to CCBC Dundalk's lead.

Justin Morrisey finished with 23 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Malik Witherspoon recorded his 15th double-double this season, contributing 14 points and ten rebounds, while Terrell Neal added 14 points and eight assists.

The FCC Cougars men's basketball team concluded its season with a record of 15-12 overall and 7-7 in MDJUCO conference play.
