Five Cougars Men’s Soccer Players Selected to the DII All-Region 20 Team

Frederick Cougars' student-athletes David Diaz Guzman (Tuscarora HS,) Erick Ochieng (Upperhill HS,) Joel Jamieson (Laurel HS,) Jackson Kincaid-Osborn (Franklin HS,) and Emir Vasquez (Robert B Glenn HS) were selected to the DII Men's Soccer NJCAA All-Region 20 Team. David Diaz Guzman and Erick Ochieng were selected to the First Team, Joel Jamieson and Jackson Kincaid-Osborn were selected to the Second Team, and Emir Vasquez was selected as an Honorable Mention, as voted on by regional head coaches.  

Diaz Guzman played in every game for the Cougars and was the team's point leader with 28 points and second in goals with eight goals scored. He recorded two 5-point games, one on September 8th against Hagerstown CC and again on October 6th against WVU Potomac State College. Diaz Guzman is tied for third in the Region with 12 assists.

Ochieng was a significant defensive presence on the Cougars' back line, helping contribute to five of the team's seven shutouts on the season. Ochieng played and started in the team's last 13 games and scored one goal, and had one assist against Carroll Community College. 

Jamieson started every game for the Cougars and was the team-leading scorer with nine goals. Jamieson led Frederick in Shots and Shots on goal and also recorded 21 points, good for second in points on the team behind Diaz Guzman.

Jackson Kincaid-Osborn was labeled as a defenseman but found himself in an attacking role towards the end of the season to become the team's third-leading goal scorer, recording six goals. In addition, Kincaid-Osborn had two multi-goals games. His first multi-goal game came against Northern Virginia Community College on October 14th and on October 27th against Potomac State College to help his team advance to the Region 20 Championship.

Emir Vasquez was vital to the team's midfield. Vasquez scored two goals, had two assists on the season, and shot on goal percentage of .429.
