Cougars Men's Soccer Dominate HACC Hawks 11-2

In a wet Sunday afternoon matinee, the Frederick Community College Cougars men's soccer, steamrolled the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks with a decisive 11-2 victory. It was a game where every Cougar who put on the kit made their mark on the pitch.

A remarkable eight different Cougars found the back of the net, with freshman forward Fabian Alcarraz Espinoza recorded a hat-trick, while Joshua Umanzor scored back-to-back goals ten minutes apart, propelling the team to their second win of the season. Team captain Joel Jamieson showcased his leadership by tying a career-high in points in a game, contributing six points with four assists and a goal, all while taking just one shot attempt during his 55 minutes of play. Freshman Iker Alvarenga continued to impress with his second five-point performance of the season, combining three assists with a goal in his 46 minutes on the field. Another team Captain, Roger Diaz Beatriz, also had a standout performance, serving up two crucial assists in his 55 minutes of play.

Under the guidance of Coach Wise, the FCC Cougars remain undefeated, boasting a 2-0-1 record early in the season. The team is now gearing up for a challenging stretch of four games in seven days, with three of those matches against regional opponents. Although they hit the road for their next two games against CCBC Catonsville and WVU Potomac State College, the Cougars will soon return home to face Penn State New Kensington on Saturday, 9/16 at 4:30 PM and Northern Virginia Community College on Tuesday, 9/19 at 4:30 PM.
