Softball Loses High Scoring Affair

After earning their first victory of the season, the FCC softball team returned to the field on Thursday afternoon to take on College of Lake County. Both teams came out swinging the bats tallying a total of 23 runs. In the end, College of Lake County would earn the 14-9 victory over the Cougars.

FCC pounded out 14 hits in the loss. Morgan Alder (3-for-3, 2 2B, 2 BB) and Ashley Bentley (3-for-5. 2B) had three hits each. Blair Willis, McKenzie Haynes, and Cassidy-Thanh Lee-Dinh chipped in with two hits apiece. Alder is off to a scorching hot start at the plate, hitting .667 on the year. Teammate Cassidy-Thanh Lee-Dinh is ripping the cover off the softball, hitting an impressive .556 for FCC.

FCC starting pitcher Whitney Dickerson was tagged with the loss and falls to 0-1 on the season. She tossed five innings, giving up six earned runs in the outing.
