Cougars Halt Losing Skid with Two Wins Over Riverhawks

Game 1:
Mackenzie Murray drove in four runs on four hits, with a home run to center field in the third inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the second inning, scoring one. Avery Sickeri followed up with three hits on three at-bats, hitting two doubles with one RBI. Kyleigh Hull also added three runs batted in. The entire team got involved in the top of the third inning as the Cougars scored eight runs on seven hits. Emily Ausherman singled, scoring one run; Hull singled, scoring two runs; Murray homered to center field, scoring two runs; Dehoff singled, scoring one run; and Justice singled, scoring two runs.

Hailey Justice earned her second win for FCC, giving up ten hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out one and walking one.

Game 2:
Kyleigh Hull went five for five at the plate with four RBIs. Hull hit a home run to center field in the second inning, scoring three runs, singled in the sixth inning, scoring one, and was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. The Cougars scored five runs in the second inning. Mackenzie Murray hit a solo home run to center field, and Avery Sicker hit a solo home run to center field, in addition to Hulls' home run. The Cougars piled up 16 hits in the game, with Ryan Mills, Emily Ausherman, Hull, and Sicker each collecting multiple hits for the Cougars.

Kaitlin Murphy earned her second win for the Cougars. She pitched six innings, surrendering three hits and zero runs, striking out three and walking zero.

The Cougars record improves to 4-10 and 2-4 in the MDJUCO and 2-4 in DII Region 20. The Cougar turn their attention to their next game this Saturday, April 13, as they will host Allegany College of Maryland Trojans for a twin bill starting at 1 PM.
