Cougars Mount Back-to-Back Wins with 101-59 Victory Over Riverhawks

The Frederick CC Cougars women's basketball team has put together back-to-back wins with the team's 101-59 win over Anne Arundel CC Riverhawks on Wednesday. 

Despite the Riverhawks scoring the opening point, the Cougars quickly snatched control, putting up an impressive 28 points in both the first and second quarters. In the third quarter, Frederick continued to extend their lead, adding 33 points while holding the Riverhawks to just ten. At the peak of their dominance, the Cougars boasted a 53-point lead, their most substantial advantage of the contest, with 7:22 remaining in the fourth quarter. Every player suiting up for Frederick contributed to the scoring column, setting the tone for a team-wide effort.

Frederick's leading scorer, Paige Smith, dropped 29 points with five rebounds and five steals. Amelia Robins was one rebound short of a triple-double, scoring 12 points, ten assists, and nine rebounds with five steals for the Cougars. 

Jasmine Hardy chipped in with 13 points and six boards, and Makayla Wright added 10 points and four steals. Off the bench, Makayla Wiley made a significant impact, contributing 17 points, while Alaysia Jemmott added 16 points and seven rebounds. 

Cougars improve to 3-5 overall and 2-2 against Region 20 DII opponents. Looking ahead, the Cougars women's basketball team will host Virginia Peninsula CC on Sunday, December 10, at 1 PM at the Athletics Center.
