Cougars End Win-Streak with Loss to Christendom

Frederick Community College Cougars women's basketball win streak stopped at eight games with their loss to Christendom College Crusaders 77-43.

The first quarter was competitive, with Frederick's Makayla Wright scoring the game's first bucket. Despite Frederick scoring only eight first-quarter points, FCC's defense limited Christendom to 12 points. The Cougars struggled to find scoring opportunities and experienced challenges in stopping Christendom's offensive attacks for the remainder of the game.

Paige Smith emerged as the Cougars' standout performer, shooting 46.2% from the field and contributing an impressive 28 points with four rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Makayla Wright added four points with four rebounds and two blocks, while Makayla Wiley came off the bench to chip in five points.

The Cougars women's basketball team is 9-6 overall, with six of their last eight regular season games at home. The Cougars shift their focus to their next game at Prince George's CC Owls on February 3 at 1:00 PM.
