Cougars Dominated Fighting Owls 87-44

In a commanding performance, Frederick Community College's women's basketball team secured an 87-44 victory over Harford Community College. From the opening tip-off, Frederick set the tone early and maintained control throughout the game.

The Cougars were led by Paige Smith, who contributed 22 points and had an impressive 17-point performance in the fourth quarter. Jasmine Hardy contributed 15 points and an impressive 14 rebounds, while Makayla Wright added 11 points to the scoreboard. Amelia Robins nearly secured a triple-double with 7 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Kayla Dangerfield made a significant impact with 13 points and nine rebounds off the bench.

Frederick's offense operated with precision and efficiency. Smith's accuracy from beyond the arc and Hardy's tenacity in the paint posed significant challenges for Harford's defense, allowing Frederick to build a substantial lead and sustain it until the final buzzer.

Frederick's defensive skills were also on display, holding Harford to a field goal percentage of just 28.8%. The team's collective effort in rebounding and forcing turnovers disrupted Harford's offensive rhythm, limiting their scoring opportunities.

Cougars women's basketball improved to 10-9 on the season and look to host a Region 20 Contest against Garrett College Laker at home on Saturday, February 17, at 3:00 PM. The Lakers have an overall record of 10-5 and are third in Region 20 Division II.
