The win, earned in front of their home crowd, brings the Region 20 DII Championship Series to Frederick beginning May 16 at noon.

Cougars Explode Late to Eliminate Garrett and Stay Alive in Region 20 Tournament
The Frederick Community College Cougars erupted for eight runs over the final three innings to surge past the Garrett College Lakers, 16-9, in a back-and-forth NJCAA Region 20 DII West semifinal elimination game Saturday at home. With the win, the top-seeded Cougars avoid elimination and will face the Allegany College of Maryland Trojans in another must-win matchup on Sunday morning.
Cougars Fall Short in Postseason Opener, Falling to Trojans 4-2
The Frederick Community College Cougars baseball team opened the NJCAA Region 20 DII West Tournament on Friday with a tough 4-2 loss to the #4 seed Allegany College of Maryland Trojans in a tightly contested semifinal matchup at home. Despite a standout effort on the mound from Adam Horst, who fanned 11 batters over seven innings and allowed just two runs, the Cougars couldn’t generate enough offense to overcome a late push by the Trojans.
