Bio

The 2025 baseball season will be Coach Bennett’s 23rd season at the helm. His overall record at FCC is 806-309. On April 26th, 2024, Bennett reached a significant coaching milestone as he earned his 800th career win. On May 5, 2022, Bennett coached his 1000th game as a Head Coach in the college ranks.

Coach Bennett has led the Cougars to the Region 20 Tournament 20 times, including 13 trips to the championship game and six trips to the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2007, 2010, 2015, 2021, 2022, and 2023. 

242 former players have moved on to four-year institutions under Bennett’s tutelage. The 2011 team spent six weeks ranked No. 1 in the nation, the first FCC team in any sport to reach that milestone, while the 2010 team achieved a record for wins in a season and earned a trip to the NJCAA Division II World Series.

Coach Bennett has earned many coaching accolades, including the NJCAA Region 20 Coach of the Year Award in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2015, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. He was named the American Baseball Coaches Association/Diamond Sports NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2007, 2010, 2015, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2023, Bennett was named the 2023 ABCA/ATEC NJCAA Div. II Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year! In 2022 Bennett was named MD JUCO Baseball Coaches Association “Coach of the Year.” Bennett earned the distinction of Maryland Association of Baseball Coaches Collegiate Coach of the Year in 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2022.
