FCC Defeats Chesapeake in Divisional Match-Up!

The FCC offense continued on it's hot streak by scoring four goals, two of which were scored in the first thirteen minutes! The aggressive start set the tempo for the rest of the match as FCC continued to press the Chesapeake defense in creating 11 shots and 13 corners.
Chandler Cole (S.County) started the scoring in the 10th minute when a streaking Lorenzo Bolanos (Tuscarora) penetrated the Skipjacks defense and slid a nice pass to Cole who chipped the on-rushing keeper.
Three minutes later, Bilal Hassane-Souley coming from a deep position, found himself in the center of the Skipjacks defense which he then split the RB and CB to find goal scoring Manny Mejicanos (E. Roosevelt) who dribbled diagonally and tucked a nice shot in the opposite corner. FCC 2 Chesapeake 0!
Manny Mejicanos (E. Roosevelt) tallied his second goal of the day on a free kick! FCC leads at halftime 3-0.
The lone score of the second half came in the 60th minute when Mejicanos played a short free kick to Bolanos who drove to the end line, cut the ball back, created enough of an angle and finished from close range to the far post.
The team earned it's second shutout of the young season and keeper Jacob Clements (Tuscarora) played the full 90 minutes. He had to make three saves on the day.

Coach Roby and staff were very pleased with the ball movement in the first half which resulted in a number of shots. The second half was a different story as the team drifted away from it's possession and the result was only one goal.
"We are at our best when combining/connecting and we will certainly need to play a more controlled style of play when we face a hard-working AAC," said Roby. "This game will be the first real test of our team and I am looking forward to seeing how the men perform."
