FREDERICK, Maryland - Luis Alanis (Charlotte, NC / East Mecklenburg HS) netted three goals and the FCC men's soccer team took care of business on the pitch as they shutout Carroll Community College by the score of 7-0 on Thursday night in men's soccer action.
In total, four different Cougars found the back of the net. Besides Alanis' hat trick, Michael White scored twice, while teammates Tommy Nguyen and Chris Manful each added one goal apiece. Alanis has been a scoring machine as of late. Including the three goals on Thursday, he tallied a pair of goals in Tuesday's win over CCBC Catonsville, giving him five on the week. He now has seven goals on the season, along with two assists. Alanis, Manful, Emmanuel Agyei and Ahmed Elmatoui each registered an assist in the win.
"Glad we could play a full 90 minutes in today. We've been struggling on having a quality first half start, and glad we could put four goals away in the first 45 minutes, said FCC Head Coach John LaRocca. "I'm happy with our team putting away seven goals without Vagner [Marques-Rodriguez] playing, excited for our next test against Harcum College on Saturday."
Tip of the cap to FCC goalies Ismael Hernandez and Damian Elam with recording another shutout for the Cougars. The duo registered 13 saves in the win.
FCC will play their third game of the week on Saturday (9/21) when they travel to Harcum College to battle the Bears. Game will begin at 4:00 P.M.
