Aguilar Scores, but Cougars Fall Short on the Road
Frederick Community College men's soccer put together another competitive performance on the road but came up just short in a 2-1 loss to WVU Potomac State College. After conceding early in the third minute, the Cougars battled back when Omar Aguilar found the equalizer in the 38th minute, burying a shot to make it 1-1 heading into halftime.
Despite several strong chances and eight shots on goal, Frederick couldn't find a breakthrough in the second half. The Catamounts netted the go-ahead goal in the 79th minute to seal the match. Goalkeeper Thomas McCaffery tallied seven saves, keeping the Cougars within reach throughout the contest.
Frederick moves to 4-10-1 and will look to bounce back on the road against Penn State Mont Alto on Thursday, October 16, at 4:00 PM.
