Six-Run Second Inning Dooms FCC In 8-2 Loss To Cardinals
CATONSVILLE, Md. - The Frederick Community College softball team fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-2 loss to CCBC Catonsville on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals exploded for six runs in the second frame and that was the big momentum swing of the game.
Amy Propst pitched CCBC Catonsville to victory. She allowed seven hits and two runs over seven innings of work on the mound.
Ashley Bentley (6 IP, 14 H, 5 ER) took the loss for FCC and falls to 2-3 on the year. She tossed six innings, allowing 14 hits and eight runs while striking out three.
The Cougars socked two home runs on the day. Bentley had a long ball in the sixth inning and Katie Shugars hit a solo shot in the fourth inning.
FCC collected seven hits on the day. Kayla Green and Bentley each smacked two hits to lead the Cougars.
