Softball Loses Two Hard-Fought Games To Hagerstown CC
FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick Community College softball team hosted Hagerstown Community College for a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. The Hawks swept the Cougars by the scores of 6-2 and 2-0. With the loss, FCC falls to 4-17 (2-10 MD JUCO) overall on the season. Hagerstown CC improves to 17-9 (8-2 MD JUCO) on the season.
Game One
FCC fired up the offense early in the first inning thanks in part to a Katie Shugars solo homer. It was her fourth round-tripper on the year. The game was tied at one with Hagerstown CC batting in the top of the sixth when Bridgette Ritchey singled on a 1-2 count, plating two runs. The Hawks would score six runs in the top of the sixth to secure the 6-1 victory.
McKenzie Haynes (0-6) took the loss for FCC. She surrendered four runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out three.
Game Two
In a pitching duel, the Hawks edge out two runs to defeat FCC by the score of 2-0. Ashley Bentley suffers the loss on the mound for FCC. She falls to 3-7 on the year.

FCC will return to the field on Friday (4/13) when they play host to Allegany College of Maryland (Club Team) in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2:00 P.M.
