FCC softball earns doubleheader sweep over Nittany Lions
MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Frederick Community College softball team returned to the field for the first time in a little over two weeks on Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader at Penn State Mont Alto. FCC took both games from the Nittany Lions by the scores of 8-2 and 15-14. With the two wins, FCC improves to 4-6 on the year.
Game One

Taylor Beckley went the distance on the mound to pick up the win for FCC. She tossed seven innings and struck out seven batters. Beckley had plenty of support from her teammates. The Cougars pounded out 13 hits. Katelynn Moats led the offensive attack with three hits. Katlyn Davis, Lindsey Thomas, and Hannah Laney each had two hits. Davis knocked in three runs while Brittany Jolly scored three runs. Beckley and Jolly each registered two steals in the win.
Game Two

Penn State Mont Alto 14
Plenty of fireworks in game two as the Cougars edged the Nittany Lions by one run. FCC was trailing 8-4 after five innings of play. However, the Cougars would plate eight runs in the top of the sixth to regain the lead. Penn State Mont Alto would answer with six runs in their bottom half of the sixth. The Cougars would score three runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
Morgan Lohoefer led FCC with three hits in the leadoff spot and knocked in three runs. Kaitlyn Naill, Lindsey Thomas, and Katelynn Moats (2 2B) had two hits apiece.
Taylor Beckley came in relief and picked up the win. She recorded the final 10 outs of the contest to pick up her second win on the day. Beckley also swiped three bases in the win.

FCC will return to the diamond on Sunday (3/24) afternoon when they play host to Potomac State College of WVU for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1:00 P.M.
