Cougars Sweep Fighting Owls
Bel Air, Md. – The Frederick Community College softball team hit the road for a doubleheader against Harford Community College. The Cougars would earn the sweep over the Fighting Owls by the scores of 1-0 and 9-4. With the two victories, FCC sits at 10-10 overall on the season, including a record of 4-5 in the MD JUCO conference. Harford CC drops to 3-21 on the season.
Game One
FCC squeaked out the one-run victory over Harford CC by the score of 1-0. The Cougars scored in the first inning on a RBI-single by Alexandra Hofflinger. Brittany Jolly led the FCC offense with two hits. Kaitlyn Naill got the job done in the circle for the Cougars. She pitched the complete game shutout. She gave up just five hits and recorded ten strikouts. What a game Kaitlyn.
Game Two
Kaitlyn Naill had herself quite a day on the diamond. She tallied three hits and drove in three runs in the win, including a home run. Alexandra Hofflinger and Hannah Laney collected two hits each. Alexandra Hofflinger, Lindsey Thomas, and Katelynn Moats each smacked doubles in the 9-4 victory.
On the mound, Taylor Beckley pitched seven innings and recorded 11 strikeouts, earning the win.
FCC will return to the field on 4/11 when they hit the road to take on the Trojans from Allegany College of Maryland.
