FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Community College softball team defeated WVU Potomac State College by the score of 4-0 in Region XX DII softball action on Monday afternoon on the campus of FCC.
The Cougars jumped on the scoreboard early thanks to a solo homer off the bat of Alexandra Hofflinger. The Cougar offense was just heating up. In the bottom of the third with the bags packed, Mikayla Toms came through with a huge 2-run single to put FCC up 3-0 after three innings of play. Toms would come up again in the bottom of the fifth and hit a missile off the top of the fence to plate one more run. She would finish the game with a pair of hits and three RBIs.
What an outing for FCC starting pitcher Taylor Beckley. She threw a complete game shutout against a very potent Catamount offense. Beckley is now 7-2 on the season.
