Softball Sees Season End In Region Tournament

WYE MILLS, Md. - The Frederick Community College softball team dropped a pair of games on Saturday afternoon in the Region XX DII Tournament play-in round to the Skipjacks of Chesapeake College by the scores of 8-6 and 7-4. The Cougars finish out the season with an overall record of 19-15, including 12-6 in conference play.
Chesapeake College has an overall record of 14-8. The Skipjacks will advance to the Region XX DII Final Four next weekend at CCBC Catonsville.
GAME ONE
FCC outhit the Skipjacks, however, Chesapeake would score three runs in the final two innings to earn the 8-6 victory. Kaitlyn Naill and Mikayla Toms combined for six hits in eight trips to the plate. Naill homered in the loss and knocked in three runs. Toms drove in a pair of teammates.
On the hill for FCC, Naill was tagged with the loss. She pitched six innings and gave up five eraned runs on seven hits. She gave up six free passes and struck out four batters.
