Cougars Stifled by Top-Seeded Potomac State 6-0
Frederick Community College Cougars softball postseason momentum stalled on Friday afternoon as the Cougars fell 6-0 to top-seeded WVU Potomac State in the Region 20 Division II Championship Tournament semifinal. Despite a strong effort, the Cougars were unable to generate offense against the Catamounts' pitching, who allowed just five hits over seven innings.
Frederick had early opportunities to score, but could not capitalize. Leo Cline continued her hot postseason, going 3-for-3 with a stolen base, while Kyleigh Hull and Ava Yockelson each added a hit. On the mound, Alondra Sidock started for the Cougars and battled through 4.2 innings. The Catamounts struck for six runs, including three home runs.
Now facing elimination in the double-elimination tournament, fourth-seeded Frederick will square off against third-seeded host school CCBC Catonsville on Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 PM.
