Frederick Community College Director of Athletics Larry Johnston announced that Shawn Harbaugh has been named the Head Coach of the Cougars’ softball team as of April 29, 2022. Harbaugh brings to FCC an extensive resume filled with more than 11 years of coaching experience in travel softball and high school.

Currently, Harbaugh is the head coach for the Heartbreakers 18U Elite softball team, based out of Frederick, Maryland. Most recently, he was elected by his coaching colleagues to serve as the President of the Heartbreakers softball organization. Additionally, Harbaugh serves as the Varsity Assistant Coach at Fairfield High School (Fairfield, PA). He has been at Fairfield High School since the 2016 season.

Harbaugh is a long-time member of the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) and has been recognized as a One Star Master NFCA Certified Coach, as well as an NFCA Endorsed Hitting Instructor.
