FREDERICK, Maryland – Nia Powell scored a game-high 18 points and pulled down 19 rebounds as the FCC Cougars women's basketball team defeated ASA Brooklyn Avengers by the score of 74-38 on Wednesday night. The Cougars are a perfect 4-0 to start the season.
The Cougars started off strong and never looked back. FCC led 19-4 after one quarter of play and dominated on both sides of the ball. Powell had plenty of support from her teammates. Monet Wade chipped in with 13 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field. She cleaned up on the glass with 12 boards. Teammates Amiah Banks and Tiana Jackson recorded 10 points each.
The Cougars continue to get it done at the charity stripe. As a team, they connected on 17-of-21. The Cougars assisted on 20 of the 26 made field goals and committed just four miscues on the night.

FCC will take part in the Montgomery College Tipoff Classic this weekend. The Cougars will play Jamestown CC on Saturday at 1:00 PM. They will return to the hardwood on Sunday to take on Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute. Tip is set for 11:00 AM on Sunday.
