Cougars Extend Winning Streak to Four After Victory Over Dragons
Powell registers double-double to make it four in a row for FCC
Washington, DC – The Frederick Community College women's basketball team returned to the hardwood on Friday night after a nine day layoff to take part in the National TITLE IX Holiday Invitational held in Washington DC. FCC faced off against a familiar opponent in Howard Community College in the first day of the three day event. The Cougars rolled to a 69-37 win over the Dragons.
Nia Powell was a force in the middle for the Cougars. Powell recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. It is her third game this season with double digit rebounds. Teammate Amiah Banks scored a team-high 17 points and had five steals. For Banks, she has hit double figures 11 out of 12 games this season for the Cougars. Kennedy Middleton had a nice night shooting the basketball as she connected on 7-of-10 field goals for 15 points. She had a solid stat line with eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Monet Wade continues to clean up on the glass as she hauled down 10 rebounds. As a team, FCC connected on 28-of-60 (46.7%) field goals in the win.

FCC is back in action on Saturday night as they take on (RV) CCBC Essex (14-2). Tip-off is slated for 6:30 PM.
