Women's Basketball runs out of gas in 76-51 loss at Cecil
North East, MD - The FCC women's basketball team's second half heroics weren't enough against Cecil College, as the Cougars lost 76-51. FCC Sophomore center Nia Powell turned in another solid performance with 12 points and 19 rebounds. Amiah Banks led FCC with 20 points on 7-of-21 from the field.
Heading into the break, FCC trailed by the score of 43-22. The Cougars would come out of the locker room on fire, outscoring the Seahawks 19-6 in the third frame. The Cougars trailed 47-41 late in the third quarter. In the end, it was the Seahawks putting the contest away in the fourth quarter putting up 27 points in the final 10 minutes.
FCC shot just 19-of-73 (26%) from the field, including 4-of-28 (14.3%) from beyond the arc. The 51 points scored today by FCC is the second lowest offensive output on the season. The Seahawks dominated the boards, outrebounding FCC by the count of 55-42.
