FREDERICK, Maryland – The Frederick Community College women's basketball team lost on Wednesday night to Harford Community College by the score of 74-57 in MD JUCO conference action. The fourth loss in a row puts the FCC basketball team at 12-8 overall on the season. The Fighting Owls improve to 17-4.
A tough second quarter proved to be costly for the Cougars. FCC was able to muster up just four points after jumping out to a 14-10 lead after 10 minutes of play.
Makaala Ambush had the hot hand for FCC on Wednesday night, resulting in a double-double. She tallied a team-high 19 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field and cleaned up on the glass with 10 boards. Makenzie Crigger and Amiah Banks chipped in with 12 and 11 points in the loss. Nia Powell pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds. For Powell, it is her sixth game in a row with double-digit rebounds.
The Cougars committed 17 miscues on the night and shot just 20-of-63 (31.7%) from the field.
FCC will hit the road on Saturday, February 8th at 1:30 p.m. to battle Montgomery College in a key matchup.
