Cougars Drop Conference Contest to Raptors
Rockville, Md- The FCC women's soccer team went on the road to take on Montgomery College on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars came out strong with goals by Caitlyn Ray and Victoria Doing with assists to each other. It was a total team effort with the FCC up 2-1 at half. The Cougars held the Raptors until the 83rd minute with a goal to tie the game that put the game into overtime. Although a very competitive game the Cougars came up short with a 3-2 loss. The Cougars fall to 3-10 on the year including 0-7 in the conference while the Raptors improve to 9-5 including 5-2 in the MD JUCO.
FCC goalie Destinee Winhauer recorded eleven saves and the Cougars defense came up big in stopping a number of shots and pressuring the ball to almost win the game. Winhauer moves into the top of the MDJUCO leaderboard with 93 saves and Doing moves into 6th overall with five goals and five assists.
Up Next: FCC will return on the road on Thursday to play CCBC Catonsville in MD JUCO action to finish their last game of the season. First kick is set for 4:00 PM.
