Walker earns first win as FCC head coach

CATONSVILLE, Md. - The Frederick Community College women's soccer team charged out of the gate and never let up, netting seven first-half goals in Tuesday's 10-0 win over CCBC Catonsville. FCC sits at 1-1 overall on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 6th Minute: Lindsey Brant didn't waste any time putting the Cougars on top when she headed in Hannah Smith's out-swinging corner kick.
- 14th Minute: Brant added to the lead; finding room in the box to bury her second goal of the season. (FCC 2, Catonsville 0)
- 15th Minute: Brant's first career hat-trick came thanks to some serious hustle from Kaia Asmar. (FCC 3, Catonsville 0)
- 31st Minute: Asmar added to the score after taking Maddie Sorrell's pass in stride and beating the keeper. (FCC 4, Catonsville 0)
- 34th Minute: Brant struck again. (FCC 5, Catonsville 0)
- 36th Minute: Brant received a through ball from Sorrell which she finishes, scoring her 5thgoal of the day. (FCC 6, Catonsville 0)
- 39th Minute: Joud Hudhud finished the first half scoring for the Cougars after slotting a pass from Sorrell past the keeper. (FCC 7, Catonsville 0)
- 59th Minute: Sorrell scored her first goal of the day when Alexa Corchado found her unopposed on top of the Cardinals box. (FCC 8, Catonsville 0)
- 83rd Minute: Sorrell scores her second of the day. (FCC 9, Catonsville 0)
- 87th Minute: Alicia Coats finishes the scoring for the Cougars when she found herself in the box after playing a give and go on the side of the field with Kelsey Wright (FCC 10, Catonsville 0)
NOTEWORTHY:
- Lindsey Brant started the scoring for the Cougars by completing a hat-trick in the first 15 minutes of the game and finished with five first half goals.
- Madison Sorrell finished with a brace and tallied a team high three assists for the Cougars.
- The Cougars defense didn't allow a shot in 90 minutes.
- Alexa Corchado started the game in goal for the Cougars while Brooke Tucker and Brant played in goal during the second half.
- Kelsey Bowers, Tristen Meyer, Rebekah Shorb, and Brant took the pitch for the first time this season.
- The Cougars edged the Cardinals 34-0 in shots and 11-0 in corners
- Tuesday's victory marked the first win under first year head coach, Joachim Walker.
