Women's soccer ties Montgomery after double overtime

ROCKVILLE, Maryland - After 110 minutes on the pitch, the FCC women's soccer team tied Montgomery College 2-2 on Thursday afternoon in a very intense and crucial Region XX DI contest. Both teams knew heading into this contest that it was going to be a showdown and the game lived up to the hype. 

How It Happened

With just 44 second left in the first half, MC's Eve San Martin found the back of the net to put the Raptors up 1-0. In the second half, FCC's Lindsey Brant would tie the contest up in the 66th minute at 1-1, and this one would go down to the wire. The two teams would trade goals in the final 24 minutes of regulation play and this game would need extra time to determine the winner. In the final 20 minutes of overtime, both teams played stingy defense and the game would end in a tie.

FCC Notables

Jasmine Lara led FCC with two assists and she now has a total of eight assists on the year. Lindsey Brant tallied a goal while teammate Ally Pick chipped in with a goal and an assist.
