Cougars Battle Hard but Fall to Carroll at Home

The Frederick Community College women's soccer team put together one of its most disciplined performances of the season but came up short in a 2-0 loss to Carroll Community College on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars held the Lynx scoreless through the first half behind strong defensive play and steady goalkeeping before Carroll broke through with two goals in the second half.

Midfielder Alyssa Pizer led the FCC offense with three shots on goal, while Kennedy Conley and Francesca Vacchelli each added opportunities as the Cougars continued to apply pressure late in the match. Defensively, Frederick limited Carroll to just 11 total shots and kept the contest within reach throughout.

The Cougars fall to 1-7 on the season and will look to bounce back when they hit the road to face CCBC Catonsville on Thursday, October 9 at 3:00 PM.
