On January 3, 2024, Rodney Bennett, Director of Athletics, announced that Adam House has stepped into the role of Head Coach of the Frederick Community College Women’s Soccer Team for the 2024 season. With an extensive background in playing and coaching soccer, Adam's journey from a young player in Middletown to his current position as Head Coach has been marked by passion, dedication, and a commitment to player development.

Adam House joined the FCC Cougars in the 2023 season for his first year as the Assistant Coach before taking on the Head Coach role.

Coach House brings an unwavering passion for soccer and a rich background in coaching and playing to his role. Growing up in a family deeply entrenched in soccer, Adam's love for the sport was ignited at the young age of 3 when he joined Middletown's in-house soccer program in 1988. Since then, he has played competitively in every season, with only a brief 1.5-year hiatus. The influence of his father and former UK professional coaches, who lived with his family and trained his first club team, instilled in him a dedication to the sport and a love for coaching that endures to this day.

Adam's soccer journey took an unexpected turn when his family relocated to Minnesota during his 7th-grade year. Fearing a decline in training opportunities, he was pleasantly surprised to find himself playing for the top-flight team in the state's largest club. This experience exposed him to a new level of competition and coaching styles from around the world, inspiring a deep respect for the diverse approaches to the game.

His dedication to soccer continued throughout high school and college, where he played at FCC. However, a disheartening experience with a senior-year coach temporarily diminished his enthusiasm for the sport. Nevertheless, a chance encounter with the FCC Men's Soccer Head Coach reignited his passion for coaching and led him to become involved in coaching rec travel teams at WMAA. Adam's coaching journey grew rapidly, and he soon found himself coaching multiple teams at the club level, fueling his desire to contribute more to the soccer community.

In 2013, Adam joined the Board of Directors at WMAA, serving as the organization's President with a vision to grow the local soccer program and provide club-level training at an affordable cost. His dedication to player development and love for the sport shone through, and many of the kids he coached at the small local program progressed to high-level club and college soccer.

Adam's impact extended to Alliance Soccer Club in Frederick, where he served as a head coach, leading teams to higher state and national rankings and securing multiple tournament and league championships. His commitment to nurturing players both on and off the field led to his appointment as the Director of Training, where he curated high-quality trainers and curriculums for all teams in the organization.

As Coach House embraces the new role as the head coach, we look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly have on the Frederick CC Cougars women’s soccer program and the broader soccer community in Frederick County. Adam is thrilled to return to the college where he once played.
