FCC volleyball duo earns All-Conference honors

FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick Community College student-athletes Taylor Fleagle (Gov. Thomas Johnson HS) and Lauren Ryan (Linganore HS) have been named to the MD JUCO All-Conference Team. Both Fleagle and Ryan were selected to the second team. The official announcement was made Friday afternoon by the conference.

The Cougars finished the 2021 season with a 6-4 record in the conference. Fleagle and Ryan shined on the court for FCC.

Fleagle was one of the top hitters in the conference. She was third in the conference with 90 kills. She average 2.81 kills per set and had a hitting percentage of .218. She tallied 100 points in conference play, good for fourth place. Fleagle recorded a season-high 15 kills in conference action vs. College of Southern Maryland.

Ryan turned in a stellar season for the Cougars. She exceled on defense and was one of the top servers in the conference. She record 38 service aces in conference play, averaging 1.19 per set, both good for third in the conference. In conference play vs. Allegany, Ryan recorded a season-high 13 aces in the match.
