Jodi Carpenter
Jodi played volleyball and basketball at Frederick Community College. She was named to the first team, all-tournament volleyball team in the 2002 Kamina Allen Volleyball Classic.
She led the volleyball team to a 23-8 record in 2003, and served as team captain both years. During the same period as a basketball player, she averaged a season double-double (most points and rebounds) during 2002-03, while leading the team in free throw percentage. She also held the record for the most rebounds in a single game in 2003.
After leaving FCC, Jody earned an art portfolio scholarship to Frostburg State University, from which she graduated in 2005. During her time there, she was named the AMCC Volleyball Player of the Week three times. She was also named First Team All AMCC in 2004 and held the single-season record for hitting percentage in that same year. She led the Frostburg 2003-04 volleyball team to a 64-10 combined record, and served as the 2005 women’s volleyball assistant coach.
“I genuinely loved my time at FCC,” Jodi said. “I was able to pursue my passion in art, compete with successful basketball and volleyball teams, and save money for my future. I can honestly look back and say that I fully embraced all of the great qualities that FCC offered and I can’t thank the awesome people here enough for mentoring me along my journey. With the support of my FCC family, I went on to get myBachelor’s degree from Frostburg State, and I am now the Director of Sales and Marketing at a top financial brokerage agency in Orange County, California.”
