Phil Stone was a standout pitcher on the FCC men’s baseball team from 2003 to 2004. During his time as a Cougar, he earned a spot on the First Team All-Region XX Team in 2003 and was named to the First Team Maryland JUCO All-Conference the same year.
Stone went on to pitch for George Mason University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice. Now employed with the Fairfax County Police Department, Stone has earned a Meritorious Action Award, Certificate of Valor, and the Life Saving Award.
“When I finished high school, I was unsure of where I wanted to continue my baseball career. A coach suggested Frederick Community College as an option. I made the trip up and met Coach Bennett. I immediately felt at home at FCC and submitted my application. Coach Bennett and Coach Evans were by far the best coaches I have ever had. Their character and dedication to the players was extremely encouraging. They helped me grow and develop as a player. The two years I spent at FCC will always be the favorite years of my career.” -Philip Stone, Jr.
