B.A., Indiana State University - Evansville

• Men’s Basketball: 1981-1983
• Freshman year at FCC: Named most valuable defensive player
• Sophomore year: Most Valuable Player
• Named to the Maryland JUCO All-Star Team, 1983
• Named Student Athlete of the Year in the State of Indiana by the Kiwanis Club

Scott’s bachelor’s degree from Southern Indiana was in business. He put that business prowess to work as he started and built two companies, and served as President of an East Coast-based business for ten years. He was the vice president of business development for MINDBANK Consulting Group and has served as a consultant in the staffing arena for the past four years. Before joining MINDBANK, Mr. Newlin was the president of the largest regional staffing firm in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area for ten years. He also wrote a book on how to build a business, Focus Your Future, (available on Amazon.com for those of you who may be interested). He is also the proud father of five daughters and five grandchildren.

“My experiences were many at FCC. I wasn’t just an athlete here, I was a student/athlete. Everyone who was involved with FCC while I was here I owe a big thank you, not just the athletic department but the professors, the administrative staff, teammates, friends and fans of the team. Everyone I knew at FCC cared about me as a person first and athlete second. The many experiences I had at FCC have followed me throughout my life. I developed a lot of friendships during my time at FCC that I still cherish today. FCC for me is where my adult life began. I will always be grateful for the people and memories I gained at FCC.”
