Frederick Community College, 1983-1985
Carl played baseball for two years at Frederick Community College. During his first season, he was named to both the all-conference (JUCO) plus all-Region XX teams. He held a batting average of 350, hitting 16 home runs, which was second in the nation, with 57 RBIs, third in the nation. IN 1985, Carl was named as an All-American, All-Region XX, and All Conference athlete, averaging .443, with 11 home runs, 59 RBS’s, 18 doubles, and 8 triples, and was ranked third in the nation.
In his tenure at Point Park State, the team finished third in the country with a 52-8 record. He was named second-team All American, all-region, and all-conference, averaging .427, with 11 home runs and 69 RBIs. He played four positions while only making one error all year.
